Park Wall Design

A 4 ft. high perimeter wall is proposed along the north, east and west boundary of the park. The wall will be constructed of Allen Block and will incorporate a metal railing (dwg. 1) and follow the same footprint, pillar spacing and entrance locations.  Three pillars require electrical wiring as noted on concept plan.

1 3/8 in. or smaller metal pipe is slid vertically through the hole in the top course of wall blocks and pounded 1-2 ft. into ground (dwg 1).  Caps and top course of wall are secured with flexible concrete adhesive.  Tie the wall panels into the pillar structures, by placing a Corner Block half on the wall panel and half within the post/pillar. This will interlock them together adding stability to the wall (dwg.1).

The Main entrance of the park is off of 4th street.  It is 10 ft. wide, with two 5 ft. high pillars on either side of the entrance way.  Electrical wiring will be installed in both pillars for park lighting and an electrical outlet.  The main entrance includes future considerations for an archway that utilizes design language that is in character with City Hall.  A secondary entrance is located on the SW corner (6 ft.) for service equipment and access to performance area.  All other pillars are 4 ft. tall.
