Relief Office Clerk

(Casual, Part-Time Position)


Position:  Provide routine clerical and secretarial assistance.  Reports to Chief Administrative Officer.




This position performs auxiliary clerical/administrative relief work at the Village Office to cover temporary vacancies, absences and occasional projects over the course of the year. Solid general office and higher-level administration skills are required for various duties ranging from reception/front counter work and minute-taking to additional more complex administrative assistant duties and project work. Some assignments may require skills in Finance/Accounting and the operation and update of websites/ social media accounts.  Good familiarity with information technology and hardware is typically needed.


This position requires intermediate MS Word and Excel spreadsheet skills. The successful applicants will have the ability to pick up tasks and computer systems quickly; have strong teamwork and customer service skills within a small organization where flexibility is essential. 


Hours of Work: 

Successful applicants must be available to work between 8am and 12 Noon on weekdays.  Availability in the late afternoon and evenings on Tuesdays would be an asset.  Limited to 89 days of work (or 712 hours) in a 12 month period.


Salary:  Hourly Pay Starting at $19.00 + 12% in lieu of benefits (excluded position).
